“Two” initially presents as dividing cells, planted seeds or sexual glands/organs; it’s also a statement on fecundity, reproduction, and a reminder of our genetic connection to single-celled organisms and the natural world. The piece is also a symbolic depiction of human bonding and an affirmation of the natural, emotional and biological validity of same-sex attraction.
